Peru: Maria Nieves - GESHA
CURRENT ROAST DATE: 11/1/2025
The first gesha to be featured on the aRoastia menu, and we couldn't be more excited to share this premium coffee with you. The gesha varietal originated in Ethiopia, and is now found most often in South America. Gesha is a rare coffee, grown at high altitudes and a selective coffee cherry picking process. Hallmarks of a gesha are a delicate body that allows for fragrant tasting notes to shine through.
This coffee comes from renowned producer Maria Nieves Tantalean at the farm El Limón in Cajamarca, Peru. It is a washed process coffee that was grown 1,850 meters above sea level. Tasting notes include orange blossom, cola, and honey.
Available only in whole bean in bags of either 100 grams or 250 grams. We recommend waiting a week (or longer!) from the roast date before brewing. If making a pour over with a brewer like a V60 or Kalita Wave, we recommend a small dose of 12 grams of coffee to a range of 200ml to 215ml of water.
